Greg's navigator, Damian, had this to say about the event........

Well, the first thing I knew about being in this rally was around 7.30pm on Friday night, when during a phonecall, Matt mentioned that Greg Lemmon was in desperate need of a navigator. Having not navigated for over two years, I was a bit nervous about swapping back to the left seat, but in speaking to Greg he really sounded desperate, so I didn't think it would matter how bad I was! I met Greg at lunchtime on Saturday, popped a few Quells, and before I knew it we were heading off toward the first stage. As the car is still in Group N specs, it was kinda weird being in a rally car that still had full carpet, headlining and the original radio & CD player!! (Damn, its more comfy that my road car!) Sitting on the start line for the first stage it also felt funny not having the steering wheel in front of me, and I found myself pushing the terratrip foot-remote in like the clutch..... The stage went really well, and I was really surprised at how quick Greg was, very smooth and flowing, and very, very fast! I really had a bit of a prejudice against front wheel drive cars before this, but that evaporated after the first few corners. The highlight was obviously going over the Mineshaft (my first time in competition), and our service crew told us we got the most air...or should I say we did until Rallyboy stole our thunder!! The next few stages went by without much drama, except when the terratrip froze halfway down Bullock Paddock road. We got though to the last stage without incident, and made our way back to Urriarra. I was particularly pleased that we’d finished, as the last three times I’ve been in a rallycar we’ve DNF’d…..must say a bit about my driving huh? There was some slight controversy with some stage times, but halfway through our second beer we were told we’d won! VERY HAPPY!! Big thanks to Greg for letting me sit in and see how a car should be driven, thanks to Greg’s Dad for servicing for us, and again, a massive thanks to all who volunteered their time so we could have some fun. Ta Damian.
